Royal Mail
From sorting hub to national showcase. A landmark brand experience for Royal Mail’s Mount Pleasant sorting office transformed one of the UK’s largest postal facilities into a space that reflects the scale, reach, and pride of the organisation.
As Royal Mail’s central London sorting hub, Mount Pleasant processes millions of letters and parcels daily — yet its vast interior spaces lacked a sense of identity, unity, or cultural connection for staff. The challenge was to create an environment that celebrated the organisation’s nationwide presence, instilled pride in its people, and brought clarity to navigation across the sprawling site.
Working closely with Royal Mail, a signature graphic element was developed directly from the typographic form of the Royal Mail wordmark — a subtle yet powerful visual thread that tied the scheme together. This formed the basis for a series of large-format landmark graphics, each depicting a recognisable location from across the UK to symbolise the network’s national reach.
Alongside the graphics, a complete signage and wayfinding strategy was implemented, designed to dovetail seamlessly with the architecture and interior scheme. The solution extended from the operational heart of the sorting facility to the reception and public-facing spaces, ensuring a consistent and professional experience at every touchpoint.

The scheme delivered a cohesive visual language that elevated the working environment and improved wayfinding for staff and visitors. Employees reported a renewed sense of pride, with the graphics acting as daily reminders of the organisation’s purpose and nationwide impact. The combination of bold storytelling, clear navigation, and brand-led detailing positioned Mount Pleasant as a flagship example of Royal Mail’s culture in action.
